One of the most exciting tasks of being a Maid of Honor is planning the bachelorette party.
Does sunshine, mint juleps, bottomless brunches, and hair blowouts sound like the perfect weekend? If so, Charleston, South Carolina is the perfect destination for your bride-or-die!
Lodging
We stayed at a Historic Charleston Rowhouse that cost about $160 per person and was a $5 Uber to King Street. Coming from Northern Virginia this Uber pricing was a nice relief. Unfortunately I can no longer find the AIRBNB listing otherwise I would share the link.
Itinerary
The below itinerary was printed out on pink paper and placed in the gift bags that each of the bridesmaids got for the weekend.
Oku Sushi | This cute restaurant is located on King Street and offered a great happy hour deal where all sushi was 50% off!
The manager visited us at the table to personally say hello, congratulate the bride to be, and gave us his business card that would give us access to get into a local club. We did not go to the club because we already had planned our evening, however we really appreciated that he took the time to come and talk with us.
Oku has other locations across the east coast in Charlotte, NC; Raleigh, NC; and Washington, D.C. The DC location is near Union Market and I went for my 25th birthday last year. This location sadly does not offer the 50% off sushi happy hour.
Rainbow Row | The well-known strip of row houses is really beautiful and a lovely way to start a Saturday morning. I recommend going to Rainbow Row after the hair appointments for better photos.
Tease Dry Bar | After a quick photo op at Rainbow Row we Ubered back to King Street for our blowout appointments. Tease Dry Bar has since closed and is now Drybar Charleston. When we arrived at Tease they offered us complimentary champagne and took the time to make sure we felt really pampered. The interior ambiance was bubbly and each stylist did a great job.
Stars Rooftop Bar | Once our hair was looking fabulous we walked 2 blocks away to Stars for bottomless brunch and $3 mimosas. We were lucky to land a table on the roof overlooking King Street. The bottomless brunch was downstairs inside but we were able to bring the food upstairs with us. I was surprised that there weren't many people on the roof considering how nice the weather was. My favorite part of this brunch was the unlimited smoked salmon!
The rest of Saturday was spent at The Vendue, then at the Charleston Waterfront Park to see the Pineapple fountain. In the evening we made DIY pizza at the AIRBNB before pregaming and going out for the night!
